What holidays and events do you celebrate at work
I was hired in September, 2008. Not knowing the culture, I wasn't sure what to do about the Christmas Holiday. I knew most of us had kids and, being a creative group, we had a bowling party. We all had a great time and we were able to celebrate together.
Describe how you celebrate a particular event
We closed the office at 3:00 in the afternoon the week of Christmas and invited the kids and spouses for an afternoon of bowling and pizza. The ages of the kids were from 2 1/2 years to 18 years. There were 4 lanes for the experienced down to the bumpers for the kids. No pressure to play, but everyone did participate in helping the little ones and it didn't get too competitive.
Tips and Tricks
- I feel this strengthened our bond and everyone is asking if we are going to do it again this year. The bowling alley gave us a special rate on rentals and food - bonus!
