Human Resources Burnout

Friday January 13, 2006
Have you visited the Forum recently? There's an interesting thread underway about Human Resources burnout. Seems that more than a few of us get worn down by all of the employee problems. In a long ago Harvard Business Review article, a similar subject involved how to keep the monkeys off a manager's back. I'm sure you're familiar with the propensity of employees to give you assignments and to-do lists. (The monkeys are the assignments - not the employees - in case you wondered.) Both of these practices can wear you out. Here are several ideas for dealing with HR burnout. Add your own ideas.

And, while you're there, please notice that John (DEOMIgrad) has returned to help host the Forum. Members benefitted greatly from John's cordial, welcoming style; common sense; and knowledge; when he has hosted in the past. Look for John's new moniker: HRJohn.

Here are additional ideas about avoiding burnout from About's new stress Guide, Elizabeth Scott.
