Share the Worst Job You've Ever Had

Working for a small boutique real-estate agency and being kidnapped by the principal of the real-estate company with all other staff ganging up on me and blocking the doors and exits, having the armed defenders get me out and having my computer hard-drive deleted was the worst experience for me.

What Made This Job Your Worst Job - Ever

They talked as if we were "a team" but I was excluded because I wouldn't turn up to do telephone canvassing in the evening. A principal who had a daughter who helped run the show like a military outfit.

Getting a listing in home territory and then having team members spite you and take the listing off you, when the rules were to stay out of someone else's home territory.

Doing all the hard yards to get the new company marketed with walking the streets and card dropping then being jeered at.

Being unliked for not staying for the convivial wine on a Friday evening.

Tips and Tricks

  • Ask for the company culture during an interview and see if my ideals matched that of the company.
  • Not work in the real-estate industry as not sure that its not a prevalent attitude that goes with the territory.
