Share the Worst Job You've Ever Had

I was working at Powers restaurant in Minneapolis as a coffee stand refiller when I had refilled two fresh pots of coffee and was on my way out of the kitchen and had tripped over a footstool that was sticking out from underneath the bottom of the counter top. I fell with both of them in my hands and they broke all over the place. My boss told me to hop on a bus and go to the emergency room instead of taking me to the hospital. Thank God for silvadene cream. Needless to say, I lost my job.

What Made This Job Your Worst Job - Ever

The thing that made this my worst job was the fact that my boss was so stinking insensitive about the situation and then fired me on top of it all. He could have taken the time out of his day to bring me down there and make sure that I was alright, then if his job was really that dang pressing he could have gone back to work and at least have given me a call to check on me. I know that he was not my dad or anything outside of boss to me, but, he still could have been more sensitive about me and the situation.

Tips and Tricks

  • I would have moved the footstool under the countertop and out of the way before walking around the kitchen with fresh coffee pots. I also wish that I could have fired the boss for his lack of care in the workplace and for the employees.
  • I don't really understand how any boss can be so rude like that. If I were a person in charge of others, I would always keep my ears, mind and eyes open for my employees and be as understanding as I could with all of them.
