How Do You Provide Cost Effective Employee Training
Dear Susan,
It's really my pleasure to write you about a learning and sharing discussion with the most experienced HR professionals.
As a HR Professional, I try to ensure people development programs with the minimum cost so the ROI is maximum. This will encourage management to support the training program. If an exclusive development program is happening outside the company (facilitated by Training Org.), I try to nominate some young, dynamic person for that program who can deliver it inhouse. After coming back from the program. we allow the professional time and request him to deliver the same, so the ROI is maximum.
What Results Do You Experience From Employee Training
After coming back from the training, the personnel is requested to deliver the program within the office and we ask for feedback from him as well as the inhouse participants.
With this kind of reverse training program, management and the company benefit in terms of money and our professional's time. On the other hand, people got training in a familiar environment and with a known resource person.
With this kind of a program and initiative, people of the company are really being encouraged to improve their resource person's skill. That helps them to be more professional at work and they feel devoted towards the company.
Tips and Tricks
- Send your selected employee to the outside training program. Allow some time to prepare themselves afterwards and then, request them to deliver the same training to the rest of the company management professionals.
- From the Management end, the Company saves money and professional hours when they do not have to nominate too many professionals to attend the external training program.
- From the Professional's end, people who present are going to acquire a special skill as a training resource person that will add value to his/her professional competency.
