Paul M. Meese has worked as a professional in human resources and operations for over 20 years, including leadership positions with national and international restaurant chains, retailers, hotels, banking and not-for-profit organizations.
He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Society for Human Resources Management and holds a Masters degree in Guidance and Counseling from Michigan State University. He was also a former Executive-in-Residence for the School of Business and Economics at Michigan Technological University.
Originally beginning his career in education, his first professional position was at Washington State University where he was influential in developing a wellness model for student development. His career then took him to Sheraton Hotels, Glenkirk, Sizzler International, North Country Bank and Trust, Bugle Boy Industries, El Pollo Loco, American Business Management Solutions, and finally as the Vice President for Client Services and Business Development for SingleSource Services, headquartered in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
In his role at SingleSource, Paul approaches his work with both a spirit of teaching and as a procedural tactician. He successfully applies his human resource experience and technology acumen to lead the company's research and development initiatives and client training programs. "Administrative technology should not be a stumbling block, but rather a spring board for any organization to reach its full potential," Paul says.
Most notably while with El Pollo Loco, Paul's efforts earned his company the Diversity Recruitment Award in 2002 from the People Report Organization.
As a guest lecturer, Paul speaks to undergraduates about transitioning into the business world, careers in restaurants, retail and hospitality, and the work environment as it relates to discrimination and harassment. His most recent lecture focuses on how students can make the transition from college into the world of becoming a professional in Human Resources.
Originally from Houghton, Michigan, Paul lives in the Madison, Wisconsin area with his family, is a percussion performer in a professional band, as well as a school clinician, he sits on four different community boards including the Board of Education as an elected official, volunteers time to raise guide and assist dog puppies, and enjoys all sports as a participant and enthusiast.
