Definition:

The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a nationally recognized source of career and job information, designed to provide valuable assistance to individuals making decisions about their future work lives. Revised every two years, the Occupational Outlook Handbook describes what workers do on the job, working conditions, and the training and education needed.

The Occupational Outlook Handbook also describes potential earnings and expected job prospects in a wide range of occupations. Job descriptions are available in the Occupational Outlook Handbook in an alphabetical listing by search or by major job category such as management, professional, sales, and administration.
