You Need to Recruit Online

The employees you want are all online. Are you?

Periodically, I profile an online resource that employers can use to recruit employees online. Job boards for recruiting are growing up and those that last offer much more these days than a powerful job search engine.

Dice.com is an example of a job board for recruiting. It specializes in technical and engineering jobs. And, it is expanding employer services to include methods for employers to network with potential employees. This allows the employer to develop a talent pool before you have a job to fill.

With all of the new competition for your recruiting dollars online from job boards, employer-employee matching services, and companies that want to help you place your website job postings on Facebook, Dice.com is a grandaddy - 19 years old.

I do want you to look into the new possibilities that are springing up practically every day through online job boards for recruiting, because a variety of new methods are available. I've recently updated your options for recruiting online.

Take a look. Think creatively, too. I've seen estimates of available jobs that are never posted or advertised that range as high as 70% of all job openings. Use the methods listed in the newly updated article to fill your unadvertised jobs, avoid the resume onslaught from posting a job online, and to pursue passive job seekers, those skilled and excellent employees who can be enticed away from their employer.

Online networking, social media networking, targeted job boards, career and job pages on Facebook, making connections through LinkedIn... You need to pursue all of them in your quest to recruit superior employees.

Hi Susan,

You’re right! The best way to reach passive clients (who will opt for a search engine and social media as their main job search tools) is through “online networking, social media networking, targeted job boards, career and job pages on Facebook and making connections through LinkedIn.”

However, there are also ways to leverage your job posts with social media recruiting solutions (like Cachinko) that increase your job marketing through SEO and online broadcasting. It reduces your dependency on job boards, as well as labor spent posting opportunities on social media sites. Thank you for sharing such great options!
