Carnival of Human Resources - SHRM Redux
I've been a bit lax in posting these, but thought you might be interested in a Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) conference update. The online HR blogging community has suggestions for improving the annual SHRM conference (held this year, June 27-29) that include:
- a speaker lineup with way fewer consultants and more practitioners,
- more opportunities for the average attendee to meet and communicate with the "in-crowd" (whoever they are), and
- more participation in social media as a central conference theme.

Apparently, the "average attendee," if such a person exists, is an HR Generalist who is hungry for information about how HR offices are successfully developing programs, solving organizational problems, and serving employees and organizations in innovative ways.
These attendees also want to know how to impact their association and their field. They want to meet some of the HR industry rock stars, too - the people who write the books and make the music.
Read more about the SHRM Conference and some on target posts about other HR topics, too. Thanks to William Tincup for hosting the Carnival at the JPIE Blog.

Take a look at some excellent posts to familiarize yourself with additional HR and management writers. This month, we all wear our teacher / professor caps and you can continue your education online. Don't miss it.
