I don’t need to run a roll call of companies doing layoffs on this blog because they are all over the main stream news. You know how pervasive layoffs are currently; you can’t turn on the news without hearing about more layoffs, including Microsoft, Intel, Caterpillar, and other major companies. Listening to a national newscast last night, I heard that the combination of the unemployed plus the people who are underemployed is 13% of the U.S. population.
This percentage is scary. And, I don’t see any good news on the horizon any time soon. So, the best I can do is offer information that will help you address your work situation, no matter what it is. Hence, my new resource: Got the Layoff Blues? I offer advice for the employee who may be facing a layoff and advice for the employer who may have to do layoffs. You can safeguard employee motivation and morale through communication, kindness, and respect.
