A Policy a Day - Begins Today
Harassment training is high on my agenda this summer for a client firm. We're currently preparing the training class and rewriting policies about harassment, how to make a complaint, and the procedures that Human Resources staff and managers will use to investigate a complaint.
So, training and policies have made their way back onto my immediate agenda. Take a look at my site's newly rewritten article: Use Training and Development to Motivate Staff.
The Importance of Continuing Education
Aside from the training and development you do with your new hires, continuing education, including Human Resources related training, is critical for employee retention and motivation. Employees cite continuing career and personal growth and development as a key factor in work happiness.
A Policy a Day
In fact, from July 7 until August 1, I'll feature a policy, checklist, HR letter, or form in my blog every week day. Please check back often to see the latest. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome and have helped me to improve my samples and make them more effective in the past.
Employment Ending Checklist
This employment ending checklist was significantly changed and improved as a result of two readers' notes to me. It's our policy of the day - not new - but significantly changed from when it was first written.
