Bad bosses posts, no matter how old, continue to draw attention on the site. I know because I receive an email every time a reader posts to an older blog. Four new posts this week alone are worth your attention. What makes a bad boss bad? According to almost ten thousand of my readers, the lack of clear direction is the biggest failing. We have all had bad bosses, past, present and future, but what about the bad EMPLOYEES? I am a manager of 12 people and while I am not perfect I really try to be fair and give my staff the tools needed for success. I work on being decisive because I know how hard that is. But seeing things from the other side there are so many bad employees — people who complain and bitch and belittle just because they have no faith in themselves. A lazy employee with a lot of attitude can drive any boss to distraction. So it goes both ways.
