Home Depot Eliminates Human Resources Jobs

In a move that Home Depot says is to put more people in customer serving, customer facing jobs, Home Depot is eliminating 1200 store-level jobs in Human Resources.
"The company is downsizing it's in-store, human resources staff from 2,200 to 1,000 people.The Atlanta Journal-Constitution also reports that a scheduling coordinator in each store will receive some human resources responsibilities. Human Resources staff will have the opportunity to apply for both the regional positions and the Atlanta positions in human resources and the in-store customer service positions."The remaining jobs will be centralized to 230 district offices.
"At the same time, the big box chain will hire 200 employees to staff a human resources call center in Atlanta that will support the new district organization. Home Depot will also hire 30 regional level human resources employees to handle recruitment and other issues."
