Deal With Difficult People at Work

Friday March 23, 2007
Difficult people do exist at work, in your volunteer associations, among your friends, and in your family. One of the key issues with difficult people is that they don't always perceive themselves as difficult. They don't "need" to be right; they are right, as an example. They don't "always" have to be in charge; they are just best suited to the leadership role - in their minds.

I'm not saying my brother is a difficult person but he does have trouble committing to family events. The other night he sent an email that said he really wants to commit to the summer family reunion and will commit as soon as he can. What on earth do you do with that for planning? Difficult people come in every size and every affiliation. Fortunately, most are not being difficult on purpose. These ideas should help you deal with all of the difficult people in your life.
