Create Passionate Users

Wednesday March 29, 2006
Over at Creating Passionate users, a blog that emphasizes management, employee, and customer practices that create people passionate about their work and products, Tuesday's post differentiates between Web 1.0 and Web 2.0 management practices. My advocacy at this site and in my writing, editing, and consulting appears to be much more in the 2.0 category, I am happy to say. Thank goodness.

But, it is also a clarion call to recognize that most organizations are not forward thinking yet. The majority of the emails I receive from site visitors ask me how to deal with or how to change many of the Management 1.0 practices. It's a real challenge. And, sometimes it feels like a one person crusade, but I am determined to change the way organizations treat people and are led and managed. I think I'll write about passion in work this morning.

Exploring at the site, I figured out that Kathy Sierra, the writer of the post, founded JavaRanch, one of the world's biggest online communities. Who would have known - java? But, I have yet to figure out what Dance Dance Revolution is. Off to learn. Have a great day, Tony, at TechSmith, who sent this blog my way.
