Performance Development Planning: the Heart of Performance Measurement

Saturday November 5, 2005
Happy weekend. I'm working on a bonus plan, a stock option plan, and a deferred compensation plan for a current client. We are trying to align the company's reward structure with the accomplishment of growth and service goals. To do this, the establishment of appropriate metrics is the biggest challenge. So many activities in the company are hard to measure. I believe, however, that we will do the best we can to get started and then, each year we will continue to refine the metrics. The important component is getting started. The performance development planning process is the perfect approach to align metrics with the employees' goals.
