Why Blink Matters: The Power of First Impressions
Sunday August 28, 2005
I am seriously a fan of Malcolm Gladwell and his writing. His initial book, The Tipping Point (Compare Prices), and his current book, Blink (Compare Prices), have profound implications for people and organizations. In Why Blink Matters, we learn that professional speakers and trainers have long asserted that people make up their minds about people they meet for the first time within two minutes. Others assert that these first impressions about people take only thirty seconds to make. As it turns out, both may be overestimates. You really want to read both books.
