What Brings You Joy?

Have you ever seen a purple hyacinth peeking up through a layer of snow? It's a sight to behold. Winter sent one last blast my way this weekend. Six inches of heavy snow layered the forest like icing. The goldfinches and the cardinals were remarkable with their spring garb showcased against the white. Thick snow muffled the sounds of spring time and the yellow pond flowers stayed tucked away for another day. And, believe it or not, I was already nostalgic for snow, so I rejoiced as the inches kept falling.
