The Best of Effective Networking for Professional Success: Making the Most of Your Personal Contacts
Wednesday October 1, 2003
Interested in developing a mentoring program in your organization? Last year, I wrote a book for a major university that tells an organization how to start and manage a successful process. We are currently developing 12 months of conversation guides so the mentoring pair makes real progress in discussing the most important career-related issues. This month's conversation guide details the importance of the professional image an individual portrays through
his or her speaking, writing, email, reports, appearance and presence in a room. Expanding upon the subject of self-presentation, this month’s focus is to develop networking skills. Read this article which summarizes the book: Effective Networking for Professional Success: Making the Most of Your Personal Contacts (Better Management Skills Series) by Rupert Hart, Stirling Books, 1996.
