Women and Work: Then, Now, and Predicting the Future for Women in the Workplace
Wednesday September 24, 2003
Tired of reading about Carly Fiorina, the Chairman and CEO of the newly combined Hewlett-Packard and Compaq corporations? Fiorina and other successful women are the poster faces for the "you've come a long way, baby" spin doctors. I applaud and laud their success and hope all people grow their careers as a result of learning from their wisdom and achievements. Indeed, some of these women are my heroes. Rock on!
See a bit more about Carly and a couple of great links.
Women and Work: Then, Now, and Predicting the Future for Women in the Workplace
Carly Fiorina gets up at 4:30 in the morning, is extremely driven, demands much from people and is turning the Hewlett Packard culture into one of performance - and some say - fear.
I read this article with a great deal of interest. She has apparently changed the HP culture from one of consensus to performance, engineering and R&D to sales and customer focus and more. I really liked this article and you will, too.
You'll need to register, but access to the Workforce archive is worth it. Don't Mess With Carly.
