Diversity Programs Can Lead to More Positive Workplaces

Tuesday September 16, 2003
"Claims of sex and race discrimination are on the rise nationally – in 2002 there were 29,910 race-based claims made, the highest number of claims since 1995, according to the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Last year, there were more than 25,000 cases of sex-based discrimination and the number has been steadily increasing."

One of my clients has been sued for racial discrimination; it is the most frivolous suit one of their attorneys has ever encountered. But, can the company win in the face of a sympathetic jury? This employer has a harassment policy in place and the workforce has been trained. They are seeking a more diverse management group and the employee group is already extremely diverse. I'm rooting for the company. Are you in a responsible position with diversity honored and sought? This article, from PBN.com says, Diversity Programs Can Lead to More Positive Workplaces.
