What Great Managers Do Differently

Friday September 12, 2003
How about a link to one of your all-time favorite articles for the weekend? Great managers break every rule perceived as "conventional wisdom" in selecting, motivating, and developing staff. See how this helps create a stronger organization and committed staff.

I also highly recommend the book the article is based on, First Break All the Rules: What the World's Greatest Managers Do Differently, which is linked from the article.

Reading this book and Jim Collin's book, Good to Great, sparked tremendous discussion in a client organization. Selecting the smartest people we can find and "getting the right people on the bus," have become part of our vernacular, since managers read these two books.
