Quotations About Work

Friday August 15, 2003

How about a source for quotes for the weekend? I'm putting together a multi-page resource for those of you who seek short pieces, quotations and funny stories for your newsletters, flyers and speeches. Watch for this resource soon.

In the meantime, these quotations are all about work ...

My favorites? I have always loved the work of Robert Frost and Peter Drucker, so here's one of each of theirs:

"The world is full of willing people, some willing to work, the rest willing to let them." --Robert Frost (1874 - 1963)

"So much of what we call management consists in making it difficult for people to work." --Peter Drucker

And, one for good measure from another favorite of mine:

"When I'm working on a problem, I never think about beauty. I think only how to solve the problem. But when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong." --R. Buckminster Fuller (1895 - 1983)

Check out the Quotations Page on the topic: work.
