Mature Workers

Losing mature workers to retirement is happening so fast, organizations are not planning sufficiently for the loss. In one department at a client university, 65 percent of managerial employees are eligible for retirement in the next five years. What will they do to replace this experience?

Yes, older workers tend to be more expensive employees due to salary seniority. They may have more health issues. But, they absolutely add experience, a positive work ethic, and care for your business to your employee mix.

Organizations are looking for ways to keep older, experienced workers employed. One of my clients has a permanent part-time workforce of older and retired employees. They come in twice a week, must schedule time off for their trips to the beautiful places, work hard and are cherished.
